Customers PLEASE read before shipping engines, clutches, or parts in for service.
Most important, please be sure ANY package you ship to FCHP includes a sheet INSIDE the box with your name, return shipping address, and a phone number you can be reached at during the daytime and evening (and a good time to call if you prefer). Without this information it could cause extensive delays on your engine/part/clutch while we try to figure out where the package came from.
2nd most important, write down what you expect to be done to your engine and or clutch. A lot of times customers will call in and we will discuss what needs to be done to the engine or clutch but by the time it gets here I have talked to 10, 20, or a 100 more people on the phone and don't remember specifically what YOU wanted to be done. I want to do the best I can for you, but I need to make sure we are on the same page. And if I have any questions when your package arrives, I can reach you at the phone number you included in your package.
Include in your instructions the date you would like the have the motor DELIVERED to you. By knowing this date it helps me better schedule work in the shop and avoid "rush" jobs when they are not needed or when I thought you needed it at a later date than you expected. Notice above I said when YOU expect it to be DELIVERED. From there I can figure on the best shipping method to get it to you on time.
If you have not had your motor built or rebuilt by FCHP before, include a short note about the type of track you race on and the class. And if your track has any "special" rules for the class you are racing in, include those too.
Drain ALL fuel AND oil from the engine prior to shipping. If you are running an oil OTHER than Cramac or Thor oil, please include on a note what type of oil you are running. There are several reasons for this on mine and your end.
Cover the carb inlet and exhaust outlet by some means. I like the Gman covers for the carb and a plain ole paper towel works good for the header and exhaust port.
Do NOT.... I repeat, do NOT package your product in plastic/foam peanuts. I respect you enough not to ship you a package in a load of peanuts, please respect me enough to do the same. Peanuts get in behind the flywheel screen, behind the flywheel, and work themselves into places they should not be. It's better for both of us if it is not shipped this way.
These items will help us give you the best product possible!
